Mehiläinen: how remote appointments work
- On a phone: the OmaMehiläinen app and the Microsoft Teams app (iOS, Android). Join with the Join button on the OmaMehiläinen home page.
- On a computer: log in to the OmaMehiläinen web service with online banking ID and join in the browser (Chrome or Edge). Other browsers need the Teams app.
- The connection is encrypted and not recorded. If joining fails, the professional calls you.

- You get a link by email or text message about 15 minutes before the appointment. Open it in a browser and identify with online banking ID.
- Works on a computer, phone or tablet; Chrome is recommended on a computer. On a phone you can also use the Pihlajalinna video appointment app.
- You wait in a virtual waiting room until the professional connects.

Not always. Pihlajalinna and Aava video appointments open from a link in the browser. With Terveystalo and Mehiläinen you can use their app or their web service in a computer browser; joining Mehiläinen on a phone needs the OmaMehiläinen and Teams apps. A phone appointment only needs a phone.
Do video appointments work on a phone and a computer?
Yes, all four providers' video appointments work on both. Chrome is recommended on a computer (Chrome or Edge at Mehiläinen).
What can be treated remotely?
For example infections, rashes, prescription renewals, going through lab results and mental health concerns. If you need to be examined, the doctor refers you to a clinic.
