What is the Kanta fee?
The Kanta fee is a private clinic's per-visit surcharge that the clinics say covers the authority fees of the Kanta services and e-prescriptions and the IT costs of regulatory requirements. It is charged for visits where data is stored in the national Kanta archive.
By law, the Kanta usage fees are charged to service providers and pharmacies, not to patients; the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health sets them by decree. The Kanta fee charged to patients is therefore the clinic's own pricing decision. Kela does not reimburse the Kanta fee.
