Knee X-ray: preparation and practicalities
A knee X-ray shows the bones and the joint space. It is the basic examination for osteoarthritis and is often taken standing. A knee X-ray is done for example after a fall or an injury to rule out a fracture, or for long-lasting knee pain that gets worse with strain when osteoarthritis is suspected.
