When to see a dermatologist?
A dermatologist examines and treats diseases of the skin, hair and nails, such as eczema, acne, psoriasis and moles. The skin is examined at the appointment, and moles can be checked with a dermatoscope.
Atopic eczema has been found in about 20–30 % of Finns. You do not need a referral to see a private dermatologist.
People see a dermatologist for example for widespread eczema or eczema that does not improve with self-care, a mole that has changed, acne or long-lasting itching.
