When to see a psychologist?
A psychologist is a licensed healthcare professional who does psychological assessments and examinations and offers talking therapy for life crises, anxiety, depression and stress. A psychologist does not prescribe medication.
You can book a psychologist without a referral. Kela reimburses psychological examinations ordered by a doctor, but an ordinary talking session is not reimbursed. A psychologist's rights to practise can be checked in the JulkiTerhikki register.
